As much as there might be reasons teachers and administrators are hesitant to implement a multiage program for example thinking it's too difficult to change from the traditional method, parents may not be supportive, teachers will find it to be more work; there are still many more compelling reasons why a multiage program should be implemented. In "Children at the Center: Implementing the Multiage Classroom" Bruce Miller surveyed teachers and administrators across the United States for their reasons in implementing a multiage program in their school. Some of the top reasons were how multiage programs benefit children and encourage developmentally appropriate practices. Miller wrote that one of the key-factors for success of a multiage program is that belief in a "learner-centered environment" (Miller, pg 8).
